Legal Materials

There may be times when you will be utilizing different legal materials from the county, state, or federal levels. Chapter 11 of the APA 7th edition covers legal references. The chapter begins on p. 355. If you need more information on legal references, please see The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation.

For Statutes (Laws and Acts), this information can be found in Section 11.5, beginning on p. 361. This applies at the state and federal levels.

Section 11.6 of the APA manual covers Legislative Materials including federal testimony, hearings, bills, resolutions and reports. Please see Section 11.6 beginning on p. 363 for the templates of different types of legislative materials.
